The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is an American reality series for the Bravo cable network.[1] The sixth installment in the network's The Real Housewives of... franchise, production for the Evolution Media series began in March 2010.[2] The show premiered on October 14, 2010.[3] The January 20, 2011 finale of the show became the highest rated episode with 4.2 million viewers in its dual prime time telecasts. It was surpassed by The Real Housewives of Atlanta which attracted 4.4 million viewers for its season finale on January 30, 2011.
The series was renewed for a second season which premiered on September 5, 2011. The entire Season 1 cast returned, with Brandi Glanville and Dana Wilkey appearing as "Friends of the Housewives."[4] The second season was re-edited after the death of Taylor Armstrong's husband, Russell, who committed suicide on Monday, August 15, 2011.[5][6]
The first season of the show was released on DVD on June 28, 2011.

The show follows 6 women as they lead their lives around Beverly Hills. The cast includes Kelsey Grammer's ex-wife Camille Donatacci, former child actresses (and Paris Hilton's aunts) Kim Richards and Kyle Richards, heiress/businesswoman Adrienne Maloof-Nassif,[7] restaurant-owner and entrepreneur Lisa Vanderpump-Todd, and eImplement, Inc. founder Taylor Armstrong.[8]

Taylor Armstrong is an Oklahoma native who moved to Beverly Hills 8 years ago. She prides herself on being a devoted mother to Kennedy, her 5-year-old daughter with venture capitalist Russell Armstrong. Taylor is extremely passionate about both her business and her philanthropic work. She serves as Chief Creative Director of BeautyTicket.com and volunteers for the 1736 Family Crisis Center. While Taylor enjoys the luxurious lifestyle Beverly Hills has to offer, she lives by a "work hard, play hard" attitude that has enabled her to maintain her own charismatic identity.
Taylor Armstrong grew up in Oklahoma as Shana Hughes and has also been known as Shana Ford and Taylor Ford.
After allegations of spousal abuse and alleged money troubles, her husband Russell Armstrong took his own life and was found hanging by a friend on August 15, 2011.
Since 2004, Taylor has been an advocate for victims of domestic violence through her work with the 1736 Family Crisis Center,[9] in Los Angeles. In September 2011 she alleged that she suffered severe physical abuse during her marriage.[10]

This charming and witty Brit has only been in the U.S. for six years but has already made her mark in Beverly Hills. Lisa Vanderpump was born and raised in London but lived in Monte Carlo and the South of France before moving to California. Married to her husband Ken Todd for almost 30 years, the couple has two children Pandora (25) and Max (19), plus their four dogs that they also consider their babies. While in Europe, Lisa designed various homes, yachts, and all 26 bars and restaurants that the couple owned in London, and she hasn't slowed down now that she is in the states. Lisa currently owns two restaurants, Villa Blanca a celebrity hangout, which has been described as "the sexiest restaurant" in Beverly Hills and Sur in West Hollywood, which she just recently redesigned. Design is her passion, but she also writes a page each month for Beverly Hills Lifestyle magazine and will be launching her first book in October 2011 entitled, Simply Divine, about simple but gorgeous entertaining. In addition, she also has her own skin care line, "Epione." Lisa is candid about the fact that she spends every night in bed with a gigolo, also known as her pint-sized pup Giggy, and she is happy to report that she's upped her intimate moments with husband to three times a year.

Adrienne Maloof-Nassif a savvy "no-nonsense" businesswoman, Adrienne Maloof is an Albuquerque, New Mexico, native who moved to the palm tree-lined streets of Beverly Hills 15 years ago. Adrienne, her mother, and four brothers comprise the Maloof Family dynasty, whose multi-faceted sports and entertainment enterprise includes the Sacramento Kings, Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Sweeping Palms Entertainment (film, television, and music), and Maloof Money Cup, the world’s largest skateboard competition. Adrienne is also involved in several charitable organizations within her community including the School On Wheels program, the Good News Foundation, and the Camp Kindness program with the Sacramento SPCA. While business certainly plays an extremely important role in Adrienne's life, her true passion is family. Married to prominent Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Nassif, she is a mom through and through, raising her three young sons, Gavin (8) and twins Christian and Colin (5).[11]

Kim Richards is a former child actress who is best known as the "Disney Girl,” starring in such films as Escape To Witch Mountain, and No Deposit, No Return. She also appeared in various television series, including Nanny and The Professor, James at 15, Hello Larry, Diff'rent Strokes, CHiPS and Magnum P.I.[12] After co-starring in the feature film Tuff Turf with James Spader and Robert Downey Jr., Kim decided to go into early retirement and devote her time to raising a family. Kim has four children Brooke (25), Whitney (21), Chad (20), and Kimberly (16). Kim, who is currently single, is the older sister to fellow Housewife, Kyle Richards, and aunt to Paris and Nicky Hilton.[13] She is currently working on various business endeavors including a jewelry and water bottle line that donates proceeds to charity. Kim loves the Beverly Hills lifestyle and says, "you can take the girl out of Beverly Hills but you can't take the Beverly Hills out of the girl."

Kyle Richards is a California native, born in Hollywood into an acting family. She landed her first role at age four in Disney's Escape to Witch Mountain, where she played the younger version of her sister, child actress and fellow Housewife Kim Richards. Her other sister is Kathy Hilton, mother to Nicky and Paris Hilton. Kyle's TV credits include Little House on the Prairie, Carter Country, Down To Earth, and ER. Film credits include Halloween, and The Watcher in the Woods.
Kyle is an avid advocate for the fight against cancer, even completing a 68-mile bike marathon last year to raise money to help fight the disease. Kyle is married to the love of her life, Mauricio Umansky, one of the nation's top realtors. Up next, Kyle is starring in the Lifetime original movie, Deadly Sibling Rivalry, and is also developing her own handbag line, working on her new lifestyle book, and creating her own skin care line with famed Beverly Hills spa Vera Bella. Her greatest passion, however, is being a mother to her four daughters: Farrah (22), Alexia (15), Sophia (11), and Portia (3). Kyle believes "If you obey all the rules, you'll miss all the fun."
Richards was born in Hollywood, California (January 11, 1969), the daughter of Kenneth Edwin Richards (1917–1998)[14] and Sharon Kathleen (née Dugan; 1933–2002). Her parents separated in 1972 and Kathleen later remarried. Richards' siblings are actresses Kathy Hilton (born 1959) and Kim Richards (born 1964).[15] Socialites Nicky and Paris Hilton are her nieces.[16]
Richards is married to Mauricio Umansky; the couple have three daughters: Alexia, Sophia, and Portia. Richards had daughter Farrah from a previous marriage.[17]
Her acting roles include Nurse Dori on the hit television series, ER, Lindsey Wallace in Halloween (1978 film), and Angie in Eaten Alive. She has also appeared in episodes of her niece Paris Hilton's reality series The Simple Life and My New BFF.

Faye Resnick is an interior decorator in Beverly Hills and very close with Kyle Richards. Even though she's not listed as part of the official cast, neither as a "Friend of the Housewives", she has appeared in some of the most memorable scenes on Housewives including "The Dinner Party from Hell". Resnick first made headlines in the 1990s when her friend Nicole Brown Simpson was murdered. Resnick took the stand in the OJ Simpson Trial, wrote a book and later posed for Playboy. Camille famously referred to Resnick as "the morally corrupt Faye Resnick".

Dedra D.D. Whitt is a friend of Camille Grammer and a makeup artist. Just like Faye Resnick, Dedra Whitt is not included in the main cast of the series even though she has appeared in some of the most memorable scenes including "The Dinner Party From Hell" in season one and "Malibu Beach Party From Hell" in season two, causing a fight with Taylor Armstrong. Dedra is also featured most notably around Camille's storyline as documented in season one's "The Lost Footage".

Dana Wilkey is known in Beverly Hills for her over the top, celebrity driven events. She has produced some of the most elaborate parties throughout the US and Europe and does everything from film premieres to children's birthdays (she’s the party planner behind Taylor’s infamous $60k tea party for her 4 year-old daughter in season one). Originally from the east coast, Dana moved around a lot as child. She was deeply impacted by a car accident that put her mother in a coma, and eventually resulted in her mother's death. Since then, she has been motivated to be a self-made woman. She left home at 15 and made her way to the west coast, graduating with honors from USC. She is a successful entrepreneur and in addition to her party planning business, she also founded the Adwil Agency, a boutique web application development company and product placement firm. Dana is also an active supporter of various charitable organizations including: 1736, The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS organization, and IPalpiti. She has an extensive Barbie collection, and her hobbies include travel, hiking, running, and the study of the brain. She is the proud mother to a 22-month old son, and will soon gain two adult stepchildren, when she marries her fiancé in 2012.

The October 14 season premiere scored over 1.5 million viewers.[18] The November 4 episode delivered 1.9 million viewers.[19] The December 16 episode reached nearly 2.2 million viewers.[20] The January 6 episode received its highest amount of viewers yet, with 3.5 million for the 9PM and 10PM airings combined. The series ratings have continued to grow, attracting 3.7 million viewers between the 9PM and 10PM airings for the January 13 episode, ranking No. 1 in the 9PM Timeslot Among Adults 18-49 Versus All Cable Competition.[21] The January 20 finale became the highest-rated Season 1 episode with 4.2 million when combined with multiple evening reruns. Atlanta remains the The Real Housewives of... franchise's highest one time watched episode with 4.4 million viewers with its season 3 finale.[22]
